Same-Day Crowns with In-Office Milling
Our in-office crown technology allows us to complete many crowns from start to finish in just one appointment. After preparing your tooth, we use a digital scanner to create a highly detailed 3D image—eliminating the need for traditional impressions in most cases. Your crown is then custom-designed and milled from a high-quality ceramic material right here in our office. Once your crown is finished, we verify the fit, bite, and appearance before permanently placing it. The result is a strong, natural-looking restoration without the inconvenience of a temporary crown or a return visit weeks later.
Using state-of-the-art dental technology and advanced training, we can design and create your custom crown right here in our office. We begin by 3D scanning your teeth, eliminating the need for traditional, goopy impression materials. Those highly detailed digital scans are then processed using Exocad, advanced dental design software that allows us to precisely design your new crown.
Once the design is complete, we mill your crown in-office using our Redon R-One Plus milling system. In about 30 minutes, your custom crown is ready for us to evaluate, finish, and place—all during the same visit. The result is a beautiful, precision-made restoration without a temporary crown or a second appointment.
Same-day doesn’t mean sacrificing quality. Our in-office crowns are manufactured using the same professional milling technology, techniques, and high-quality dental materials used by leading dental laboratories. By bringing this technology directly into our office, we can maintain the durability, comfort, fit, and esthetics we expect from a world-class restoration—while completing the entire process in a single visit.
Because we design and manufacture your crown while you’re here, a same-day crown appointment is typically about one hour longer than the first visit for a traditional crown. Much of that additional time is simply waiting while your crown is being designed, milled, and finished.
During this time, you’re welcome to relax and watch TV, listen to music, work on your laptop or phone, or even step out of the office for a quick errand. We do everything we can to make the process comfortable and convenient—and when you leave, your final crown is already in place.
